Goodbye Mr. Smirnoff!

One of the most respected American chamber groups, the Julliard String Quartet, carried out a parting concert before great auditorium at Alice Tully Hall on Tuesday. The group will continue its activity, but in smaller structure. The first violinist Joel Smirnoff is parting the group to grow the president of Institute of Music in Cleveland. The group was forming a little bit longer than ten years. Although its performances seem to be rough, the latter are always lively and impressive. The group started its performance with “Quartet in E flat” composed by Mendelssohn to honor the two hundred year’s anniversary of that composer.
