The Silk Road Ensemble is an organization that was founded by the cellist Yo-Yo Ma as a nonprofit, cultural and artistic educational formation in 1998. “Within a decade our group has joined the lovely customs and new knowledge by examining cultural intersections”- says Yo-Yo Ma. Music masters together with Yo-Yo Ma will perform two programs showing the differences in cultures of the countries linked by Silk Road. The ensemble uses western and non-western instruments.
